| Bio: | employed as a pastry chef ; Lives just outside state capital;enjoys being a loner except when someone highly original & independent catches my attention; grew up with an identical twin brother, who was my closest friend & who was murdered while he was on Christmas break from college (Louisiana State University)& staying in the French Quarter in New Orleans. My family was & is fractured, secretive, & highly dysfunctional. The first ten years of my life are a period of lost time for me as I have very few memories before the age of ten; I spent much money & time with a shrink trying to recover those years to no avail; because of my lack of memory & other symptoms, her theory was I had been sexually abused, & my subconscious had wiped the slate clean (much like the character Brian in Gregg Araki's film, Mysterious Skin, although I don't believe I was abducted by aliens). So, having a large part of my past missing, I concentrate solely upon the present .... I write about the years that I do remember sometimes, & although a large part of it wasn't so great, having an identical twin was an experience I cannot adequately describe --- I do believe our closeness is what got us through our childhood & adolescence..... |
